UPDATE: Course extended & new content added!
Interested in a professional and lucrative career in affordable housing management?
Affordable Housing Management is a 5 week program designed to provide a fundamental foundation of Affordable Housing and Property Management knowledge. These learned fundamentals will provide affordable housing under the Section 42 Low Income Tax Credit Program, a dollar-for-dollar program qualifying applicable household gross income within set income limits.
Property management is the professional service of managing private, public, or third party owned real estate. Management companies employ property managers who are responsible for the day to day operations of the community including but not limited to greeting prospects, presenting apartment homes and features, and properly securing lease contract agreements for qualified applicants. Property management is a service oriented profession that strives to make current residents feel welcome and comfortable in their community.
This program is for students who may want to work for local, state, and/or federal housing agencies, would like to work for an affordable housing developer, and/or just interested in the topic of affordable housing. A degree is not required to be eligible for employment opportunities such as a property manager and/or leasing agent. This program will give you the confidence to perform the daily duties and provide professional, knowledge-based customer service.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive a Loyola University New Orleans Certificate of Completion and 2.0 Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
