The paralegal certificate program at Loyola University New Orleans is designed for professionals looking to start a career in the legal profession or to advance in their current role. Students can earn their paralegal certificate from Loyola in just six months, and our flexible online program is a great option for those who prefer to work at their own pace.

Our immersive certificate program trains you in legal writing, terminology, research, contracts, civil procedure, trial preparation, investigation, discovery, and substantive topics of law. Courses are led by practicing attorneys and experienced instructors who provide individual support and guidance on assignments. 

Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive a Loyola University New Orleans Certificate of Completion and 36.0 Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

AT YOUR OWN PACE

The online paralegal certificate program takes six months to complete and has start dates on the 15th of every month. Students can complete coursework at their own pace.

A Platform to Help You Learn

Students in Loyola’s paralegal certificate program learn using an educational management platform that provides interactive study support tools and online resources. You’ll benefit from chapter-by-chapter lecture notes, electronic and text-based note cards, as well as exercises using multiple choice, point and click, and fill in the blank formats. The online platform also provides quizzes, animations, e-lectures, charts, and mock exams to help you track your progress.

Gain Relevant Skills for Paralegal Professionals

The program is designed to train students in legal writing, terminology, legal research, authority, trial preparation, investigation, discovery, e-discovery, customized state-specific document labs for assignments, Lexis training labs, actual and virtual Law Library training, and much more.

Tuition

Online Tuition: 

$6,299 plus course materials*

*Fee does not include the cost of textbooks, approximately $950. A textbook list and ordering instructions will be emailed to registered students.

Up to $2,000 in scholarships is available for qualified applicants. See LaNasa Memorial Scholarship tab. (Scholarships can not be combined with any discount options below.)

Discounts: 

  • 10% tuition discount available for Loyola alumni, current Loyola students, Loyola faculty and staff and active duty or retired military.
  • Must email qualifying ID to PACS@loyno.edu upon registration.
  • $500 early bird discount available to those that register three weeks prior to start date.

Tuition Options

  1. Full tuition remitted at registration.
  2. Payment plan option:
    • Please email PACS@loyno.edu to request payment plan information.
    • A $250 deposit is due upon enrollment into the payment plan through Loyola's payment plan partner, Nelnet Campus Commerce, to reserve your seat in the class. Deposit will be applied to your tuition balance. 
      • We will contact you upon registration to set up the payment plan. There is a one time non-refundable service fee paid to Nelnet Campus Commerce to set up the payment plan.
      • Payment plan is a 5 month plan with monthly auto-withdrawals.
      • Enrollment is not confirmed until the payment plan is set up.
