Bio

LaMicha Jackson joined Loyola University New Orleans in 2023 as the Program Coordinator for Professional and Continuing Studies. LaMicha is the first point of contact and responsible for marketing, logistics, and promotion of Women’s Leadership Academy and PACS programs and courses. LaMicha is a passionate and accomplished professional hailing from Houston, Texas, with a diverse background in education, people management, and corporate branding. With seven years of experience in the field of education, LaMicha has made a significant impact on the lives of students and colleagues alike.

LaMicha’s dedication to education has been recognized through various prestigious awards. In 2018, she was honored as the Rookie of the Year, acknowledging her exceptional performance and commitment during her early years as an educator. In 2019, she received the Houston Area Alliance of Black School Educators award, highlighting her contributions to promoting educational equity and excellence within the community. In 2020, she was named Teacher of the Year for her exceptional teaching skills, innovative approaches, and dedication to student success. And in 2022, she received the Dazzling Diamond Educator award, being hand picked by a student graduating in the top 5% of their class.

Beyond her role in education, LaMicha has utilized her business degree and branding expertise to make a significant impact in the corporate world. She has successfully collaborated with both Fortune 500 companies and local New Orleans businesses, such as Move Ya Brass, MOVN, and French Quarter Festival, Inc., to elevate their brand identities and enhance their market presence. Her strategic approach, creative vision, and attention to detail have propelled these organizations to new heights.

LaMicha’s passion for community empowerment and engagement extends beyond her professional endeavors. She actively volunteers her time as a volleyball coach at her local YMCA, providing mentorship and guidance to young athletes. Additionally, she serves as an executive board member with STEM Bridges Houston, a non-profit organization dedicated to expanding access to higher education and STEM opportunities to first generation college students. LaMicha also lends her support to the initiatives of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., particularly her Loyola undergraduate chapter, Eta Theta, where she actively contributes to community service projects and fosters sisterhood.
